Completion

How wonderful to finish something
Once you’ve got it started.
Oftentimes ambition fizzles,
Or it’s just departed.

Then your project languishes,
Awaiting your attention.
You forget about it,
Though that wasn’t your intention.

Whether it’s a household chore
Like laundry, bills or cleaning,
Or something more creative
Where your talents have been leaning,

It’s equally annoying when
You have no time to do it;
For it can’t be completed when
You just cannot get to it.

But every now and then you find
You’ve gotten something finished!
The feeling of accomplishment’s
Not easily diminished.

And then you feel quite proud until
Reality sets in.
So many projects still await,
You’ve no time to begin…
