I’ve never been to Egypt,
And haven’t seen the Sphinx;
The odds of getting to that site
Are nil, the more one thinks.

Americans are streaming out –
Who needs another riot?
And Israel hasn’t said a thing;
Their governments’s gone quiet.

I’m not politically inclined –
The details I’ve not tracked;
But if you turn the TV on,
You can’t help but react.

It’s frightening to watch and see
A government unwinding.
It’s happened many times before
And we don’t need reminding.

But since technology is king,
We get a front-row seat
To watch the goings-on,
Although the facts are incomplete.

The repercussions of this fight
Will impact history;
But most of us will turn the dial
Because it’s time for “Glee.”
