Preventing Knotted Knickers

A person asks a question
Simply looking for a fact,
And then appears surprised to hear
The answerer react.

For what he meant within his mind
Was not what was received;
A harmless query somehow’s got
The questioned one quite peeved.

It isn’t only Venus-Mars
For gender’s not to blame,
As words are often twisted,
Adding fire to a flame.

A simple explanation
Often sets intentions right;
Ignoring such solutions
Sets the stage up for a fight.

The remedy is obvious
But not an easy task:
With knickers still unknotted,
Take your doubts in hand and ask.
