Certain dates we don’t forget
For
it is automatic
To
think about events which
In
our lives were quite traumatic.
November
twenty-second and
Eleventh
of September
Are
dates my generation
Will
just naturally remember.
But
other dates are personal
And
even if I tried,
I
never could forget today,
The
date my father died.
Each
year I flash back to that time
And
feel that jolt of pain
That
12/10 on the calendar
Will
trigger in my brain.
