This Season

The deck was strewn with fallen leaves;

I swept them all away

And cleared the gutters with my broom.

The house looks fine today.

I bought two mini-pumpkin gourds,

As I do every year,

Which perch right near the door to lend

An autumn atmosphere.

Surrounding trees are orange-gold,

The foliage at peak.

As far as Nature’s beauty goes,

I’m on a winning streak.

This season’s always magical;

Though leaves mean extra work,

The colors and the cool crisp air

Provide a double-perk.
