Women's Day

It’s sad we need a Women’s Day,

For having one implies

That women are inferior

In many people’s eyes.

 

Of course, that’s true, but saying

“Hey – let’s honor those today

Who’ve made the world a better place

Despite their DNA”

 

Just makes the point that mostly

It’s so easy to forget

That women are as skilled as men,

Or more so, I would bet.

 

But still, we’ll celebrate this date

Next year and yet again

Until there’s opportunity

For women, like for men.
