On my city walks, a sighting
Of
some wildlife oft prevails
But
today I was surprised to see
A
little group of snails.
Two
were inching very slowly
To
the edges of a path
Though
with runners soon approaching,
Things
looked sketchy – do the math.
One
crushed shell nearby was telling
So
I hoped they’d be all right
For
along the promenade, a snail
Is
not a common sight.
Later,
I saw many pigeons
And
a chase involving mice
But
it took some slimy crawling snails
To
get me looking twice.
