It’s easy to convince myself
That
talking on the phone
Or
via Zoom or texting
Makes
me feel much less alone.
Of
course, it does, to some extent
But
what about the rest?
To
realize it’s a fallacy,
Just
try this little test:
Go
visit friends or family
You’ve
not seen in an age
And
grab them in the biggest hug
Your
body can engage.
You’ll
have to then acknowledge
That
long-distance love, though sweet,
When
measured next to face-to-face
Just
really can’t compete.
