In
Manhattan are for rent
Which
even a vaccine would prove
Too
late to quite prevent.
For
people left in droves, their reasons
Obvious
and sad –
No
jobs or money to sustain
The
lifestyle that they had.
The
city, minus all the buzz,
Is
lacking in appeal
So
all those bare apartments
Don’t
seem like the greatest deal.
If
even I, a city gal,
With
New York blood and mind,
Is
questioning the urban life,
Will
any lease be signed?
