The Election

America has made its choice
And many people will rejoice.
For those who chose to disagree,
There’s one thing that’s a guarantee –

Electioneering’s finally done;
The battle fought, the victor won.
So let’s set enmity aside –
Democracy exemplified.

It’s time for each community
To take this opportunity
To come together and unite;
Then everything will be all right.

At least we’ve heard our last debate
And ads designed to denigrate.
The moment’s come for switching gears;
We’ll vote again in four more years.
