A soggy Easter bonnet,
On a gloomy, rainy day,
May have lots of frills upon it
But they won’t remain that way.
Whether made of straw or linen,
Rain will flatten and destroy,
Leaving wearers less than grinnin’,
Quite devoid of Easter joy.
Still, perhaps a gracious fella
Will appear to save the day
With a sturdy big umbrella
To keep all that rain at bay.
That will save the Easter bonnet
And bring closure to this sonnet.
