I’m not at all religious
But
when holidays roll ‘round,
I
follow the traditions
To
which I have long been bound.
I
cook and bake the recipes
Passed
down from year to year
And
use my nicest dishes
To
improve the atmosphere.
I
even wear a skirt, although
My
husband wouldn’t care
If
I plopped down at the table
In
a tee and underwear.
The
rituals and customs
That
I learned of long ago
Don’t
reflect beliefs, but rather
A
connection to bestow.
