2020 Vision

Here’s my 2020 vision:
Nothing much will change.
Yet, like every new year
I feel hopeful, which is strange.

All the talk of starting fresh,
The so-called wiped-clean slate,
For most is like a huge balloon
Just waiting to deflate.

The resolutions that we vow
This time will really stick
Will probably not last a month,
Or fizzle much more quick.

Still, there’s a chance determination
Might just persevere
For in 2020, vision
Should be smooth and crystal-clear.
