If You Knew Then

If you knew then what you know now
Who knows what might have been?
You might have landed someplace other
Than the place you’re in.

Your home, your job, your family
Might then be altered, too
And maybe you’d be happier
If you had had a clue.

Yet there’s a possibility,
If years could just reverse,
Another chosen path might then
Have made your life much worse.

So there’s no use in looking back
And wondering what you’d do,
For likely you would choose the same
Despite the things you knew.
