When You're Tired

When you’re tired, what’s required
If you want to write a poem,
Is avoiding what’s desired,
Like your bedroom in your home.

For that bed that’s so enticing
Might just lure you in to sleep
And you’ll then be sacrificing
All your rhymes for counting sheep.

So it’s best to put off resting
‘Til your words are on the page,
Though you’re stressed out from investing
In more work than you can gauge.

But tomorrow you can borrow
Several minutes to reflect
How obsession is bizarro,
But with positive effect.
